Fishing in Nanny's backyard, June 24, 2005
Hooked one but he got tangled in the lily pads and had to cut the line.
May 3, 2006 was a Blue Gill day.
Some pictures of our backyard, taken in June, 2007. Having an afinity for water, this arm of the lake was one of the deciding factors in our decision to build here in 1979. We considered the site of the old house, across the road to the north but having this portion of the lake in our backyard soon overcame that consideration. I warm weather we go down to the boat dock and feed the catfish. It is also handy to the lake and fishing for the great-grandkids as well as an old man that we know. Small bass and blue gill are plentiful making it tempting when walking Buddy to cast a few times, just for fun. We seldom eat them as we once did. We enjoy the lilypads as well.
Not in the backyard but out near the road, north of the house, in the little pond that we drain the ceptic tank into. We planted three Bald Cyprus trees several years ago when they were mere switches. They have flourished now until the largest is nearly 30' tall and a good eight inches in diameter at the base of the trunk. Not a spectacular tree but an oddity around here.
Beautiful June 22 morning, a little cloudy at about 6:00 AM. The foliage is all dark green.
Taken from the north, near the road, looking toward the house through the trees.
